Feel free to fill in the bubbles above. What is the Mom saying to Sweep in his room?

In addition to page layouts I've been doing a few study sketches of primary characters. This is sweeps father. He is older in age but still useful. The overall theme and storyline is about purpose. With out purpose what is the point?
Above are sketches of Sweep's Mom and band mate. Sweep's mom is your typical loving mother wanting the best for him.

Although I'm showing the band mate he doesn't have a big roll in the story. He is a drummer, I'm a drummer. We have something in common so I guess I have this natural affinity towards him.

Adventures of Sweep will be released Dec 1st 2014. It's such a tight deadline

<![CDATA[Thu, Sep 11, 2014]]>Thu, 11 Sep 2014 22:29:01 GMThttp://www.creativelogoart.com/blog2/thu-sep-11-2014I'm loving this process. It has given me a greater respect for illustrators. It's so important to have reference pictures.

Browsing through books and the net takes time. I wish I could go faster but I can't spend all my free time with art. Wifey isn't having that!
This is my sketch of the Detroit skyline from a birds eye view and a Detroit neighborhood. Real sketchy but trying to get the ideas out. Will flesh them in later.

<![CDATA[Tue, Sep 09, 2014]]>Tue, 09 Sep 2014 23:51:36 GMThttp://www.creativelogoart.com/blog2/tue-sep-09-2014Getting these page layouts done one page at a time. Based off the story line, I'm trying to pick good angles and shots to show.
I find myself going through the story over and over again one scene at a time. I imagine what the character is doing and feeling. I keep thinking and rethinking the layout and then rethinking again. I'm going through the first stage very slowly because of all this thinking.

<![CDATA[Sat, Sep 06, 2014]]>Sat, 06 Sep 2014 19:28:04 GMThttp://www.creativelogoart.com/blog2/sat-sep-06-2014This process has been a lot more involved than I originally thought but I'm really enjoying it. All of the decisions that need to be made in order for it to come to life. What to show in the story what not to show? Building the story so it is interesting to read.
Most of the time I have only been concerned with the art aspect. Now I have to match the story to the art.
These are some sketches of a few pages for "Adventures of Sweep". Been working on how these pages are going to flow.
At this point I'm just getting out the ideas on paper.

<![CDATA[Thu, Sep 04, 2014]]>Thu, 04 Sep 2014 18:11:23 GMThttp://www.creativelogoart.com/blog2/thu-sep-04-2014I'm really excited to get this project going. These sketches are ideas of some characters that will appear in "Adventures of Sweep". That's the working title anyway.
This is Sweeps Father. In his mid to late fifties a little tattered and taped up feet. He is always sharing his wisdom freely.
Mop Bucket is the manager of Sweeps place of employment. Sweep and his entire family works here.
A few of Sweeps band mates.
Sweep is in the middle with his Mom and Dad. Looks like this could be a nice family photo.

Doing a little character development. Sketching out what this character looks like in the front, side, and back. Have not given him a name yet, any suggestions?

He is a broom and has no legs therefore he moves by jumping.
Different facial expressions for this broom character.

<![CDATA[Irritation]]>Sun, 31 Aug 2014 05:46:10 GMThttp://www.creativelogoart.com/blog2/irritation
This short comic is about the electronic customer service system. Some times the system can be so irritating. Technology has come a long long way but somethings just need to be handled in person.

What are some things that irritate you?
I've been generating ideas for this character. The pictures up top are showing a little bit of the process.

1. sketch out
2. scan into computer
3. redraw using Wacom tablet
4. color in photoshop cc

Below is the final art work for this two frame comic strip.
